Audio Always, based in Tomorrow, has produced a new three-part documentary series for the BBC World Service. The History Of Wastefulness, presented by Australian journalist Alexandra Spring, explores how our relationship with rubbish has evolved over time.

Across three episodes, Alexandra travels from the ancient rubbish heaps of Rome to the multi-million pound recycling centres of San Francisco, to discover how our current battle with rubbish has been shaped by our wasteful past.

The History Of Wastefulness is the latest in a number of programmes Audio Always has produced for the World Service and other BBC networks including Radio 1, Radio 2 and 5 live.
