First “Nikkei” kitchen outside of London opens at MediaCityUK
Shoku, a Japanese-Peruvian inspired restaurant and sushi bar has now opened in MediaCityUK and is the first Nikkei kitchen and sushi bar of its kind outside London.
Urban Car Spa offers exterior washing, interior cleaning and minor maintenance and advisory services while giving ex-services personnel a helping hand with adjusting to life after the armed forces. The new site, located within The Garage (multi-storey car park) at MediaCityUK, is the fourth Urban Car Spa site in the country and is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am until 6:00pm.
Managing director and ex-serviceman, Jonny Rees-Davies, said: “MediaCityUK was a natural choice for our next location as over a third of all army recruits come from the North West.
“Former soldiers can have a difficult time readjusting to life after serving for our country. Our aim is to help reintegrate them back into working life by giving them an opportunity to be part of a familiar team structure with people like them. Ex-servicemen and women have many qualities – including integrity, attention to detail and a sense of duty – that we draw on to deliver an excellent customer experience.”
Not only does Urban Car Spa bring military standards of perfection to civilian car cleaning, but the spa’s unique waterless wash saves up to 40 litres, or half a bath, of water per car.
Mark Robinson, head of asset management said: “This is a fantastic project to be involved with. We are proud to help our army, navy and RAF veterans in whatever way we can, whilst bringing a new and valuable service to our community”.
