Lowry Outlet goes Lego crazy this half term

LEGO fans are in for a treat this half-term holiday as Lowry Outlet, MediaCityUK, is shipping in hundreds and thousands of LEGO® bricks to celebrate the launch of The LEGO® Batman™ Movie at its VUE Cinema.

Lowry Outlet will host two weeks of free LEGO brick fun, from Saturday 11^th February 2017 to Sunday 26^th February 2017, including a treasure trail of life-size LEGO Brick characters featuring princesses and a smoke breathing dragon. LEGO themed activities run from 11am-4pm each day.

Lowry Outlet Centre Manager Kelly Hurst, said: “What a fantastic event to kick start the first half term of the year – there is so much to see and do over these two weeks at Lowry Outlet, that families will want to come back time and time again. From LEGO model building with the Master Model Builder (on Saturday 11th), to seeking out the trail of mythical LEGO brick characters, and of course watching the latest release at VUE Cinema.”

Kicking off the fun on Saturday 11th February will be LEGO Workshops with LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Manchester’s Master Model Builder, Alex. Join one of six workshop classes to get hands on with LEGO brick construction with the master himself. Learn all the tricks of the trade, where the only limit is your imagination.  These free workshops are limited to 15 children per workshop and can be booked via the website at:

Other LEGO activities during the two weeks will include:

• A LEGO Brick Mosaic where visitors are invited to help build a giant mystery mosaic, made with over 120,000 LEGO bricks. Each visitor will place a brick to reveal the hidden picture.

• A LEGO brick castle visitors can walk through to see lots of amazing life-size sculptures, all made from colourful LEGO bricks, including a mystical Griffin, a beautiful princess and other magical characters. Finally, take your seat on the LEGO thone!

• A LEGO Treasure Trail around the Lowry Outlet offers the chance to find all of the hidden LEGO brick characters. Those that complete the trail will be entered into a draw to win an annual family pass to LEGOLAND.

• The highly anticipated big-screen adventure, The LEGO® Batman™ Movie, from Warner Bros showing at Lowry Outlet’s VUE Cinema throughout half term.  It hits VUE Cinema on Friday 10th February.

At the end of half term, Lowry Outlet will host its monthly Makers Market on Saturday 25th February and Sunday 26th February. In partnership with The Makers Market, the February event brings an array of quality artisan foods, drinks, award-winning craftsmen and entertainment to Lowry Outlet’s open-air Plaza.
