Lifestyle Outlets Rebrands Lowry Outlet as part of £26 million development to Quayside MediaCityUK
Lifestyle Outlets, part of Peel L&P, has announced that it is rebranding Lowry Outlet now work is well underway on what is set to be one of the region’s most exciting and vibrant leisure destinations.
Quayside MediaCityUK will be home to ITV’s I’m A Celebrity Jungle Challenge – a first of its kind immersive attraction opening in Autumn 2020, alongside a recently redeveloped state-of the-art Vue Cinema, Virgin Active and The Watergardens – Manchester’s only waterfront leisure and dining destination, set within MediaCityUK.
Jason Pullen, Managing Director of Lifestyle Outlets said: “We are hugely proud of our connection with the Lowry Arts Centre, which will always be part of our identity. The name Quayside MediaCityUK has been chosen to reflect our unique location as the retail and leisure heart of MediaCityUK, as well as celebrating our Salford Quays and dockside heritage.
“While outlet shopping is at the heart of what we do, Quayside MediaCityUK offers much more than a traditional outlet for our visitors, with an enhanced leisure offering, great events and entertainment, world class museums and theatres as neighbours, plus we’re an exciting place to live and work. Quayside MediaCityUK is much more representative of the vibrant, waterfront location we are becoming and with ITV and The Watergardens opening this year, 2020 is due to be our most exciting year yet.”
The Watergardens will bring a variety of restaurants, bars and coffee shops opening from Autumn 2020. A new waterfront terrace will be home to a range of restaurants with unrivalled views across the Quays, while an iconic building called “the glasshouse” with two storey, 270 degree waterside views will offer a combination of dining and bar offers. An additional bespoke leisure restaurant “the treehouse” will be located adjacent to the new ITV I’m A Celebrity Jungle Challenge.
The new branding will be introduced in phases across the estate’s assets as well as an updated website and social media channels.
As well as the Lowry Outlet in MediaCityUK, Lifestyle Outlets also operates Gloucester Quays in the heart of the Cotswolds. Both offer a unique mix of retail, leisure and entertainment based on the ethos of placemaking, entertainment and collaboration.
This model is already proving successful with more than 11 million visitors and a 5.5% growth in sales in 2019/2020
